Now for something entirely different

So for a little cultural whiplash L. and I went from Oakland to the Antioch Fairgrounds for Billetproof, “The World’s Least Important Car Show” where this, if it’s any kind of “Old School”,

is of the decidedly uncool school that takes Librace unironically as a role model and wasn’t

the droid we were looking for.  In the parking lot this came much closer…

and, once inside the gates,

…notwithstanding an early preponderance of what James Gardiner, who did the initial build of my ’45, would call “Ninja Turtle Green”, things got more interesting

…and, if one takes a close look at what’s stuffed under the hood of this ’38 Dodge, faster;

There was also a lot of Chevy’s “Hugger Orange”, much like Lincoln’s “Matador Red” with which my VW cabriolet was painted after the first time I wrecked it back in ’61, and this Baja Beast, street legal.

      The splendor in the grass is most likely a ca. ’50 Mercury…or it could be a Lincoln…something very like that, anyway.

    Nicely documented; feel like I was there; the heat!
    The weird Ford for sale by the restrooms has a Fury Road feel to it, eh?
    I sent the rare

    1960 Ford delivery sedan to Boyd in a smaller size….hopefully he’ll get it.

    So many nice cars. I’ve been to the Good Guys at Pleasanton several times and I think these are a completely different set of almost identical cars. MoreRat Rods, good on it for that. Thanks. (I really liked the old school three window deuce a la lakester.)
