Way back before we ever left for summer

I had the dire premonition that if Trump prevailed [over at that point a not yet totally diminished Biden] a proper response might be the Robert Hunter lyric from the Dead’s “Casey Jones” that “train one hundred and two/is on the wrong track/and headed for you.”  Big time, whether you voted, voted for it or voted for something less fucking destructive…well heeere it comes/heere it comes…

But meanwhile, hey, peak fall colors on the northern Nevada desert

heading for the year’s last ‘supermoon’ with

little tours around the property,

an afternoon visit to Parker Ranch’s South Gate

to check on the lads [the absolutely essential Sonny ‘n’ Seth]

and back by the Parker section house, thirty years on and still a project-in-waiting,

to Wall, where we still have two projects-in-waiting of our own;

“Insinuation”, which should go somewhere between “The Cloak” and that woodpile

and “Grey Matter”, still in pieces on pallets around the Repo.

[dust strewn Remnants of Summer in the back of a Tundra]

Frannie Fukuyama, safely ensconced in the ivory Tower of Hoover, proclaimed in the Financial Times, perhaps over[t]ly smugly, that “following Tuesday’s vote, it now seems that it was the Biden presidency* that was the anomaly, and that Trump is inaugurating a new era in U.S. politics and perhaps the world as a whole…a decisive rejection by American voters of liberalism and the particular way that the understanding of a ‘free society’ has evolved since the 1980s”…to which, given the razor thin [albeit incredibly dispiriting] majority** of consumers participating in the recent election I might respond “fuk u and the llama you rode in on, Francis…”  Or not; a totally narrow victory for the assholes of the world but a victory nonetheless and one that Fukuyama has been hoping and working towards his entire well-rewarded and sorryass career.  Hope I live to see him washed up and out in the backwash of the backlash…along with the llamas [or maggots] they all rode in on. But given the machinery they’ve so patiently rolled into place I might not.

Nonetheless peaceful enough out along the Smoke Creek with a very occasional hint of winter

moving in until the second to last day when I, not as spry as I once was that’s for sure,

discovered a flat on the Tundra and wasn’t able to get even half the lugs off – tire shops do love to tighten them way beyond mere human capabilities these days – but fortunately

Seth came by a breaker bar which worked handily so it was on to loading up for the next

great migration…

The wintry mix prevailed around the edges and we heard they’d closed 80 at the border for a bit

Monday but the next morning it seemed to have all blown through, so, end of summer…

So yeah to me the notion of even running a Trump for the presidency is a big ‘fuckyou’ to everything this country supposedly stands for and now that we got him [again, for shits’ sake!] his every appointment seems a very deliberate insult to every agency…and a big transparent thank you to every shithead that propped him into power. But of course they have a long happy history of perverting doublespeak; the EPA will now be about as much about protection as the f-ing IDF is about “defense”.  Genocide on both counts…and count on it.

Linda’s friend Roberta posted this, which says it way better. Please watch…

*…and every previous Democratic presidency, which all seem designed to alternate with Repuppetlicans’ disasters as salvage operations, right FF?

**the popular vote gave them an extremely slim majority; some “landslide”, not that anyone within the Fox/ClearChannel broadcast areas will hear anything to that effect.
