The returning of the Light…and Christmas!

But the week before, with sorely diminishing hopes for the future thanks to Fossil Joe* among other things and after what proved to have been that overly ambitious trip to the carwash and Target, I confined myself to home, where Jack Bacon was kind enough to send a picture of my

73 2019 watercolors as installed at the NMA.  Subsequently one ventured out only as far as

the luncheonette or, next day, to move cars in dense fog and for dentistry down the block.

Later, moving them back, I drove down to see where the fog had got to,

which by midday wasn’t very far.

Time marched on, the discomforts somewhat subsided and Sunday Bryan [not shown] paid us

a surprise visit on his roundabout way [Baker City, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Winnemucca, Reno…]

from JBLM to SF. That grey day’s wintryness continued even colder into Monday, wherein

I walked to the bottom of West Second; about the extent of my limited capabilities but good – so good! – to be out. Next morning, cold, breezy and briefly bright, rapidly devolved

into a predicted week of storms which began making themselves felt by afternoon.

In the incoming rain I made it around the block before transitioning to a

mostly interior existence,

somewhat dedicated to the Distant Past.

Out each afternoon, home on G

to check the Fisher-Hanlon’s citrus supply…which yes, grows on trees.

All in all a week [another week] of storms and soreness,

one bright spot being a visit from Mary to consummate our long-postponed trade plus Linda’s

wall pieces began trickling in from Reliable and up onto the walls. [“Lenticular”, 2021, below]

Towards week’s end there was some sun

though by Christmas, Eve of, things were darkening.

Wetly,

though warmly quietly festive inside, we made a

Merry Christmas and wishing the best of the season [Return of the Light!] to each and every one…

*That would, of course, be Big Extraction Manchin, true to his purchasers and playing the Master Jerkoff, though it does apparently pay quite well.  What an abominable piece of shite.  Unless of course you’re terrified that maintaining the health of a country’s population and infrastructure is…”Socialism”. Whatever THAT is.
