Another week…of wh?

Somethin’ comin’ ev’ry day, is what…

like some sort of mystery picture from long ago Guerrero to compare with the current setup

of a Monday where the afternoon studio time

went to having the Taco’s cracked windshield replaced only for the installer to discover a tiny crack so will have to be back again Friday studio time to swap it out but then Tuesday, Election

Day, it rained sweetly and when Wednesday came around results seemed sweet indeed

though in addition to a whole lot of red it was alsoa much broken up day; Taco to Alex’s in the morning, studio interruptus with calls from doctor and to, at last, orthopedics to get on the waitlist

for the knee…barely out at all, worn out mostly anyway and

the next day, first thing, had to have the ’45 towed to the SL Werke Shop,

went home via Safeway shopping, pretty much collapsed until lunch and a bit after as well until

Jeremiah called to say it was only the battery down [rendering my $29.95 charger a prime suspect] but happily I found Greg Renfrow willing to take me over there in his peeling Prius* [and available to field one of those left field calls from Bassara – they were neighbors once on

long ago Arguello], which was all working very nicely until ’45 choked up before the freeway underpass but fortunately

Greg saw that, turned around, John and Jeremiah were able to tow it, and we continued on to

a most pleasant studio visit of intense color studies and promising WIPs** [as they are known]

before he dropped me home just in time for the first Facetime with Izel since he left Libre

in July, first time Linda and Luz really talked since he flew home in October…very good for

L. though by then, no stretches [something I definitely felt], it was dinner, a brief visit to the computer, the bed and unto another day of straight outa bed to breakfast and off to, this time, Kaiser Vallejo again where “first thing that you learn is you always gotta wait”.  The doctor being late the wait went past 11:00 for a 10:30 appointment followed by yet another massive blood

draw for the Anemic One [plus they keep talking about the heartburn she keeps reminding them she’s never had] and finally home just ahead of Bryan, who took the dogs out while I made lunch [at which point Hour Glass showed up for the windshield re-replacement] after which we had a good visit as the windshield was reinstalled and then, all that done and I’d called to find that the ’45’s problem wasn’t carburetion but rather spark, the coil or something having fritzed, after Bryan bought us cones and was on his way I dug around and found a distributor at Summit, ran it by John to make sure and ordered…for Monday, hopefully. Then this, some belated research into Danny’s Trigger numbers and finally, boringly,

exercises…Later it was a trip across the street to Mai Thai for foods to tempt the Anemian

which, another dinner in the library, seemed to’ve.

And so the week…that was. Too many things, too much stuff.

*Benicia’s historic refinery airs are notoriously hard on automotive clearcoats.

**”Works In Progress”, in this case the beginning panels and studies for a major commission.
