The straits,

not the isthmus…on our meandering way to Chrisymus,

with nary a wint’ry mix in sight

all the way to Christmas Eve Day

though somehow on the 25th I woke up with “X-mas on the Isthmus” stuck in my brain.

Hard to get something like that unstuck despite lots of little distractions like Christmas cars,

a call from Canada and

an early dinner of muchas comidas Mexicanas with the Visiting Soldier

after which, without further ado, Christmas finished…walking down First as merchants cleansed their windows of cheery temporary Christmas greetings it was time to revisit the world, reassured to see that the Paper of Record [-ed rightwing propaganda, actually] has demoted the Gaza Genocide [after all, this sort of thing is a proud part of our own History] to well below  repeatedly normalizing D. Jerkoff Trump’s campaign promises to institute a Fascist Kleptocracy

and carcereal state from day one…for which all those opposed will suffer indiscriminately and for which the Gaza model will actually serve him quite well.  Can’t wait…otherwise it was

just another grey day by the bay with a ’40 Chevrolet.

Wednesday rained on my afternoon bicycling and

finished up with a nice red Thai curry [not shown], some

of which we carried, left over,

across the crowded Valley

and over the [also surprisingly crowded] hill

beyond Boreal [mobbed with snowbunnies despite a bare minimum of snow], to Highway 89,

Sierra Valley,

Hallelujah Junction, Doyle [not shown], Sand Pass and,

at 3:40,

Wall Spring, where unloading was beyond exhausting but the air was crisp and fresh.
