in which a last Saturday became, after a windy beginning,
most pleasantly warm
about town and over at the Arsenal
where I picked up glass after Scott Zoog and I watched Toyotas streaming off a RORO,
glass for shelves which will have to await installation until long after Mother’s Day
…like six months after Mother’s Day, probably.
For that though we went downtown where the chaos at Gabby’s sent us up the street
for a way more sanguine meal outside Lucca and on Monday both ended up getting rained on
in the morning. Not so in the afternoon where after a pre-Nevada visit to Safeway it was all
windblown…then Tuesday, pungent low tide and a surprise visit from Lee on his way back
from Albany where he’s working on another book. We ended up talking long into the afternoon about distant junkyards, putting packing for the Migration a bit behind and muddled.
Another morning, woulda been a good one for a last Lucca breakfast but those we’ve done
already…another day of shopping, laundry, packing,
a very last windy bike ride,
loading, putting cars to bed
and a last night out with good but seldom seen friends Greg and Kathryn across the street
at Aroma then that last walk along the water
for six months. Here the last six months vanished like a dream, went by…bye.
Yes, those 6 months passed in a flash. We Berkeley types will miss you. Till November, or maybe sooner if we make it to NV.
Try for Nevada! It’s been way too long since you were here!
Knowing you’re close by is always good…but the frogs need a visit!
The frogs seem to be doing pretty well without us…but ya never know.
Not too windy for those last two wonderful photos! I also loved the half clothed vintage truck. Hope your trip went smoothly.
6 months! Hopefully we’ll see you sooner than that! But that would mean more travels… and that may be unlikely due to current travels, but we’ll try!
You may well be ‘travelled out’ by the time you finally make it back to El Granada…
