Cory Booker for President

NOW!…before it’s too late.

If it’s not too late already…

I mean, we all got to think about the Future*, right?  Even those of us living under the pall of the

Vancouver Malaise for what turned out to be two weeks solid to the accompaniment of heater repairs and major electrical disruptions during which one could barely make it out of bed

beyond walking the dogs around the block in the morning. Friday’s big event was getting across the street to the bookstore to collect a little recreational reading as even lunch out had become a major accomplishment…

Sunday, the day Luz and Izel began their long trek back to BC, I mindlessly watched Daniel Pinchbeck mull over the apocalypse with fellow traveler Jamie Wheal, no one ever mentioning

Opus Dei’s desire for worldwide domination for some mysterious reason, while life here

went on, sometimes wetly although most of the time I was either too immersed in Cooder’s

LA Noir or just too out of it to notice…rahrrr!  Dinosaur Go-carts came in as did a few more

confusing utility markings

and, two weeks to the day pretty much after it struck, the Malaise was sort of over. I was able to get to the market and Easy Jobs Electric was back for another long chaotic day during which we

had a lunch of Thai leftovers [the big event Wednesday being having been able to get across

the street for takeout] in the garden. So finally things are maybe looking up…”maybe” being the operative word here.

*Even if the NYT won’t let us read about it, it’s out there…and the future ain’t here, baby.
