Escape velocity…

Last Wednesday not long after my brother Kirk made his cycling rounds of the Bridges of San Francisco County

Aggie and I made a last abbreviated one down to G Street and back, soon after which Scott

showed up to load the ice chests and I eased myself into the passenger seat of Linda’s Tacoma,

vacating it only to put together a small lunch and a pee four hours later at the Lake,

until Wall where Sonny and Seth helped unload into the house.

The next morning looked like we were heading for a hot week

but soon after lunch with Enrico* an unprecedented unanticipated deluge drove the

temperatures down and us inside amidsy a most pleasant visit.

After we were rested Dave came over from Parker for dinner but then Friday was quiet, the

anticipated Warming Trend begun.

One curious alteration appeared to be a change in the shape of the

Lone Juniper, inexplicably split;

resonant with Linda’s “Tunguska” installation downstream but…wh?

We initiated summer routines; early early walks,

breakfasts at the pond, all a bit occluded by my tightness, soreness and weakness but trying

for normalcy nonetheless…Days, and few of them,

went to slowly sorting what goes on to Colorado but distracted enough by healing to be barely wholly here in the meantime.  Unlike certain people, who always dive in wholeheartedly…

Saturday during dinner a massive wall of dust came up the desert as we watched motionless

in motionless sultry air from the porch…Sunday turned pristine again but warmer,

Monday warmer and drier still but walking around in the morning I was finally feeling almost

present until stuffy exhaustion returned by the end. Oh well…patience, patience;

little by little, the truck became incrementally loaded

the days grew incrementally warmer…

even moreso every dinner so

then, probably time to head back to the world ruled by Fox News and the Federalshit’s Society.  Feeling  like we live in Budapest yet?
