On the Tuesday

after Memorial Day the Deep Hole people’s trailer returned to Reno

and the day after that

I drove through cricket swarms and occasional confused bands of juvenile chukar

on 447 over the Buffalo Hills, across Duck Flat and,

entering the California Trumpisphere,

went up through Surprise Valley to Alturas for provisions, gas in Cedarville

and back past Eagleville Saloon’s enticingly eternal construction to stop for lunch

on the edge of Duck Flat [again].

Then home…

to another day, warming trend; breakfast

lunch

and tasks

continuing in moderation

in the heat as we roll towards another weekend, another

Friday

Saturday

too hot to stay out for lunch.

A warming trend indeed…with crazy winds as well.

Thought for the day; “A high concrete ledge with a chunky grind will never not be sick to skate.” Dr. Ted Barrow, historian and skater.
