…on beyond the Wall Spring dawn,
a last Great Blue on the gatepost at eight,
the empty desert to Doyle and
Linda’s Cali Coney Island zone, utterly zoned, in time for lunch…
Waking to a garbage truck in the alley, walking Thursday’s patriotic harbor
and, first day back, out in the ’45 for groceries, finding the jetty mobbed by fishers of salmon [not shown].
Large geometric shapes ply the straits…
with barbecues in the backyard and well-composed Dogs.
Night, with airplane sounds and a – bus! – [?] – confuses, but, second dawn in a row, the garbage truck cranks up and I realize it’s just “busy Benicia” four months later…
Friday we are off, fortuitously against the hideous [but typical] rush hour to Oakland
and their Museum, where resides “Glimmer” awaiting a triumphant cava christening,
or toast to the artist anyway;
Appropriate words were spoken, accolades deservedly bestowed, and a small group subsequently enjoyed a most hospitable dinner by the lakeside.
Then, Satur-dawn [or shortly thereafter]
…off to something completely different…
To be continued.
M
Salmon?? that seems incongruous, but how would I know?
Sacramento River Delta, heading home [as best they can] to spawn…even now.
Glimmer is quite wonderful. So are the cars you highlighted. Where did they show?
Glimmer looks great, we’ll have to catch in on our next Oakland pass. Congrats to Linda.
Linda’s work looks great! I will go look when I come that way in October. This blog really drew the contrast between out there and in here.
