After after…

Even before the dippy haze of Hippy Days dispersed we were hit hard by a welcome afternoon deluge which seemed to mostly miss them from what could be seen up on the mountain…

…which was dry and clear for Sunday morning, with usual and unusual bugs up the creek.

Monday was all about our quickest grocery run ever; up to Pueblo and back before lunch…

Just as well as that night brought another dinner for eight with all the trimmings and dishes [not shown] even unto the following day

So onwards and…up da creek, where our little friends grow hairier by the day…

Version 2

Up the creek, anomalous interventions, and rain to follow at dusk.

Which came later, of course…meanwhile we wander the nearby woods, doing our best to get lost every time…

I made a midweek run to Walsenburg to visit our period room [1963 painting and small sculptures from the 70s and 80s] but mostly to continue the vast inventory project; moved another 130 canvases out of the racks…and cataloged the seventeen sixties survivors.

So.

It goes.

I so regret that I lost one of those sixties paintings along the way: Guymas to Nogales. I think my brother Jim has one. Love that corner window view that is bifurcated so marvelously in different ways.

Ah….the wonderful Libre weather patterns! We’re pretty much stuck in gloomy fog on the coast here as the Monterey fire continues to burn, baby, burn 100 miles to the south.

My, what big beautiful bugs you have!
And hopefully you have a big budget for all those big dinners! Don’t you ever do potluck?

At least you remember the title…that was over fifty years ago, right? I’ve lost more than I can remember, but in addition to the one in the ‘period room’ have a 30×30″ called simply “Baja”…it was quite gratifying to get those old guys into the light for a minute.

Fog…and smoke; doesn’t sound too good. We had rain and a twenty degree drop in the temps at week’s end; actually going around in a sweatshirt with down vest for much of a rainy Friday afternoon!

Potluck can get iffy up here – too much pot, not enough luck.
      heh heh.
