Villages burning

…a toxic disaster in LA, and no end in sight.  None.

But not here…

though I did have a couple of trips to Kaiser [an eye exam and PT] where it turned out

my therapist’s aunt had just lost her house in Pacific Palisades, in between which we had a pleasant lunch at Lucca with Bryan somewhat truncated by a PGE consultation which

determined the gas flow to the roof for the finicky new heater which the Cal Bay tech was hoping to be insufficient…wasn’t.  Oh…kay.

While Elon like an idiot blamed California environmentalists and his bitch Donnie blamed Gavin Newsom the Palisades Fire burned all the way to Malibu.  What creeps, what political piggies.

Only for one day did the ‘haze’ seem like it might be errant smoke drifting up from L.A.

but the winds shifted, the fires continued, and we were again in the clear

…painfully clear, heartbreakingly clear that Los Angeles will be in agony for a  long time.

Not here, not yet…

In less monumental news remnants of the New Year’s tinycar distribution were thinning although some, like the yellow one below, did not come from me.

The greenie was one of the original offerings from Stephen, however.

My “Bent at Three Forks” 1976 restoration project* picked up, puzzling out how to match those long- ago colors while outside the World is poised to be poisoned by an immense shitstorm

that may well move faster and more destructively than anything happening in L.A. come January 20th when one of the most influential governmental entities on the planet will be handed over to a collection of mean small-minded ignorant shits in thrall to an even meaner smaller-minded idiot savant [whose savants do not extend much beyond threatening manipulations on an unbelievably grand scale but whose idiocy remains boundless] dedicated to tearing apart the country to their own advantage, solely.  Close to half of the voting population apparently feels that that’s just Great and as a result it seems we’ll all get what they deserve…which I’m very afraid won’t be very great at all. Fealty to the Scowling One required, sexual predation a plus…competence not so much [may actually put a person at a disadvantage] but decades dedicated to the decimation of the educational system at all levels assure that not only will there be plenty of incompetent candidates but that the polis, unable to grasp anything as complex as an “idea” and whatever it implies will happily mistake a self-proclaimed “strong” man [as seen on TV] for enlightened governance.

Talk about totally fucked; Totally Fucked R Us.

*The project being to approximate four lost rectangular canvases and match them to the three surviving square ones.

1 – First photo is certainly clever. Vot iss?
2 – You might enjoy Background Briefing podcast with Ian Masters, daily. Live at 5am and always accessible.
3 – Nice to see Bent @ 3 Forks progress. Did you still have the original photos for reference?
4 – Enduring the torturous onslaught of the tech bros and idiot thugs. They must be so proud of their little juggernaut. The costs of crypto are staggering.
5 – OK I’m awake and ready for the day!

First depiction is a milspec lightbulb purchased at the Newington Surplus Depot with Pulsa in 1968 and used as a nightlight ever since. For awhile only one half lit up but came back on again mysteriously some years back.
I’ll check out Ian though must say there’s already just TOO much to handle already…
As for the Three Fork project I only have one installation shot of it high up and bent around a corner so hard to tell what’s happening, particularly on the left panel. As my friend Gregg R. says, time to renew your Artistic License…
Juggernaught pride probably comes before juggernaught fall [Singularity, anyone?] but AI will solve it while gathering up all – ALL – the resources simultaneously. Yippee.
Don’t let them hear you woke or they’ll be comin’ after you!
