Prearranged crimes of holiday opportunity…

not the least, in the Christ-mess Spirit and most lucratively, would be Big O’l and the Saudi’s gouging of fuel prices across the U.S. in pursuit of obscene profits while simultaneously undermining an overly “environmental” administration and all the more so here in Cali.

One also couldn’t fail to note how the weekend’s rather spectacular robberings seemingly

cynically dovetailed with riots anticipated in the wake of the acquittal in Wisconsin of a certain weapon-wielding weepy white wimp.  Protests predictably occurred but being peaceable were overshadowed by the local TV news’ focus on the Future of Endgame Capitalism [see above]

along with the equally photogenic rubber-burning sideshows in Oakland.

But, weekend over, new “reading” to trip over came in the mail

before a lunch of the last of John’s striper* and then

that hazy low November light heading into the holidaisies, haze interrupted by

an unexpectedly brilliant Wednesday which kicked off with a rare breakfast in the yard after

taking the dogs around.  Next up the little truck, driving after six months**, finally made it

home, as did we after a trip to Richmond fortuitously unimpeded by Holiday Traffic until just

across the bridge…lucky.  The next day, day of thanks-giving, the haze was back but there

was much to be thankful for.  Lacking crab due to warming oceans we ducked turkey, enjoying

the bird known as duck with brussels sprouts, wild rice, cranberries and the remaining bottle of 2016 Julie’s Creekside Linda’d been given after a sculpture installation a year ago spring,

then moved on to port, chocolate and pomegranate seeds in the library; a most calm and quiet happiness.  Hope everyone reading this had as sweet a day, however it was and wherever you were.

*Weirdly enough I haven’t seen John in his usual place there all week.

**Leaky hydraulic throwout bearing and glazed clutch duly replaced.
