They’d had a first frost, but the leaves weren’t doing much yet; still, there was a lot to do
[not shown]
one day into the next with
“the chairs” every afternoon
and a house inundated, seemingly, in foliage.
Oh yeah, hey….ditches invaded by willow roots,
preparations for the annual burn, all the more crucial as this year it’s the biennial burn…
[every afternoon…]
and a moon.
Early Friday too wet to burn, damn!
Scenes around the place; coming back from Parker Ranch
the burnpile awaits along with
fall color or at least
what’s passing for fall color so far and every afternoon [not shown] the chairs.
Next morning, tricky [note abundance of cheat], the Biennial
Burn worked out, though I was left feeling a bit scorched.
In the interim tried to find a sweet spot with the Wrong [hot instead of cold pressed] watercolor paper but for me it all comes out mushy, like that new “improved” blenderized Safeway salsa.
After the burn, the Repo…
and more even more muted fall color
or barely any but
again [not shown] las sedias and the walk back.
A morning after, Sunday;
with an interloper on the ’82 when I went to collect it
and groom the site.
In the aftermath of the Stanford Book kerfuffle* some helpful people suggested I attempt to infiltrate the online edition, so I decided to try to quickly master the Art of the Selfie…with mixed
[well maybe not mixed; more like disastrous] results as well as closing up and packing on this
last day wherein results ended…mixed.
*see Paul Karlstrom’s comment and my response, previous iteration.
A jackpot of dis-entangled photos! Fall @ Wall looks wonderful, thanks for the tour. Glad you didn’t become a Burning Man out there by yourself, I guess lightly scorched is better than completely torched. Good looking flames, though.
So, did those selfies make it into the online version?
Still looking for the Better Selfie…we’ll see, and see if ANYthing makes the online version. word has it they’re having problems with that, too.
First, as I was strolling through the fall landscape, I was wondering if you would consider making a seasonal book of some of these. I love seeing the subtle changes and would enjoy have a group of them in one place…a visual Vivaldi. The wall sculpture is a beauty, the heron hilarious and you manage to look like I feel when I am photographed, or try my own selfie. Best to pretend it isn’t a serious effort.
