Saturday our lizards kept watch while across the world the missings continued manifesting
as deaths and Sunday, along with topping off the water, the topic that took up a lot of time was that our turkey neighbors on Turkey Creek are seeking permits for toxic waste processing, a 45,000 gallon water tank, helipad, employee housing, wellness building, agritourism “glamping” [between the anaerobic digester and the cat sanctuary???] and countless other things
all wildly unsuitable for their location. Throwing shit at the wall to confuse the planning commission, wasting everybody’s time while waiting to see what sticks.
Meanwhile out west we had Gerlach waking up to Burning Man 2026, our neighbor Dave’s*

days of dust [and later mud] but here
Monday was a trip to Gardner where medical massages were preceded by Suspicion
and followed by Linda’s former student, now tenured UNM professor Welly Fletcher , who had great rapport with Sumi and Cosmos and with whom we shared two nonstop evenings and
a day of wide ranging conversations during which I toured the entropics
on my way to the Casa Mesa site
to meet up and Ponder [yet again] the Mystery. The talk went on – the demise of CCA, 40,000 year old sculptures, the perils of trying to reach closed-minded students, travels, travails
and joys – we even spent some time up in my studio, Welly perceptively looking, but mostly
I listened, did as is my wont the dishes, and a good time was had by all…Thursday she returned
to Albuquerque and I made my way to La Clinica
for acupuncture, checked the mail [nothin’]
and went home to lunch and not much else…out on the east porch again for dinner was all,
notwithstanding more to come…

I should be sending you some mail. With drawings enclosed. Such a state of affairs! I’m coming off a year and a half of nonstop work and feeling a bit wiped. No excuse though.
I had some really good experiences with my new Notan class that I will share soon via getting inky. Students went from writing on top of images to writing images. xx

As for nonstop work I remain in awe of yours…out here it just seems to take longer to do less, but we carry on. Better that than becoming carrion. The Suspicious Heeler belongs to an old guy who walks downtown past La Clinica to the Gardner post office [probably 1/2 mile each way] and back every day around noon when the email comes in. She faithfully follows…
Egads, the Turkey Creek gang appears to be up to NO good. 🙁
Hopefully the planning commission will withhold all permits for the big beautiful bag of bullshit the gang is throwing at them! Too bad the turkeys are so close to Libre.
Welly’s work (L’s former student) looks great, I’m sure the conversations were excellent; but no definitive theories about the Mystery?
