After that day in town we were pretty ready
for Dave Cornelius’ annual plug-in to the dryer socket,
this year with special guest Kathy Moore who had never been here. We served them
Liz’ Tamales and the next day were treated to a semi-annual propane delivery
followed by an obligatory visit to the Mystery Site [no mysteries were unravelled],
a treat of a dinner thanks to their orzo salad and after a farewell breakfast on the porch
I decamped to Gardner to meet with an acupuncturist about my weak link feet and they
were gone, autopiloting up through the mountains to ultimately land in Keenesburg Colorado
in time to visit the animals. We meanwhile, after a rare day home alone,
visited Dean’s dome for the annual Lbre meeting [10:00 – 3:20]
and then,
forty minutes later, were at Leon and Arielle’s for a membership meeting
which went, with a couple of exceptions, better than expected if not as well as one might have
hoped, allowing us to finally be back on the porch for dinner by seven…
Sunday was mostly quiet although Scott Johnson, sculptor and architect extraordinaire,
dropped by with son Walker for an hour between lunch and studio with many interesting thoughts including but not limited to an interest in perhaps resurrecting Trigger…
there was still a little studio to be had that afternoon and a bike in the morning
before Gardner, Desireé, brilliant smokeless skies,
the usual dog[s]
and a newish moon coming.
