In any event after the Event

a lot of our gravel had approached the front porch and a day later there were still hailstones

under the mess, but the rest of the world was, albeit coated with pine needles, fine.

Lacking a dog or dental emergency we finally made it to Walsenburg, where our gutter needed attention and across from the Safeway an 8×12′ Confederated flag [not shown] was proudly hung. I often wonder if these rebels are thinking that they’ll all get their own plantations this time around [seems that was only a tiny minority before] but of course anyone not purely white will be a slave, that’s a given, so who’ll be left to fill the considerable sharecroppers’ niche?

Meanwhile, or later, back at Libre, up the creek, an autumnal chill

and autumnal skies,

under which we arrange to have some of the road’s damages corrected by Orlando

[Orly] Martinez who, with fifty year’s experience, is pretty good on the backhoe.

Saturday Libre celebrated a congenial inaugural party at the restored library and then

the next morning, after Lefty found the six-foot snakeskin,

Aggie and I sat out on the Pink Rock and talked about how we all used to have breakfast there when she was a puppy, which seemed to make her very happy.  We then took a morning walk

[with Kiku]

to the Lopine, which made Lefty quite proud, and later still [much later], ended the day

with a belated homage to Harry Dean Stanton by watching…and no, NO, not “Paris, Texas”.

A good time was had by all.

Maybe they are flying the confederate battle flag because they hate the United States and want it destroyed just like the other traitors who wave this dirty flag.

Thing is, what do they expect will happen once the destruction’s accomplished? I just can’t wrap my mind around it…

Ignoring the flag…..I proceed to the autumnal landscapes, so beautiful and that twisted tree coming out toward me produced a gasp! It is a wonderful photo.
