Three quarters of a century later and the seventh anniversary [to the day] of Sara Melinda’s passing I think hmmm, that third one went by awfully fast and, hmmm, we’re unlikely to make it out of the fourth. “The past”, as the late John Berger wrote, “grows gradually around one, like a placenta for dying”.
So spent the first day of the fourth quarter priming canvases, and why not.
Thursday was a good day to bathe [if you’re a hummingbird],
good days to be out…
and about,
until Saturday’s evening party
was duly and happily survived.
Sunday
afforded time to get out in the little truck while
Monday brought a Packard to First Street
and subsequent days disappear into scraping away several thousand images from the computer in an attempt to enhance its responses…hours and hours of this go by…
while outside, dull light, no matter; these were found from Wall Spring, 2015.
Fourth quarter, none given.
M
MSM- nicely put but don’t count yourself out for that 4th Q- ya neva no….love the hummer shots.
If the first photos and writings of the fourth quarter are any indication, then upcoming hits and missives will be the best ones yet. Keep it up, Bro, and may we all make it all the way thru the next 25. I’m very curious to see what the canvases will look like; ditto for our country, continent and planet.
maybe we should think in dimes
Thank you so much for connecting us to your supple/subtle/suffusion of beauty.
Love your joy in the minutiae of Benicia and the reflection on the painting. I like the idea of dimes…of course I haven’t used three quarters yet.
More minutiae, Beniciae minutiae, to come…and that reflection was over a very fine piece by Christine Howard Sandoval which you shall see soon.
Priming canvases, the future is blank and ready to be filled. Happy B-day.
The blank future puts me in mind of how extraordinary I found the story of Noguchi, in his late seventies, ordering tons of marble to be delivered to his studio, whereas now it seems completely normal.
