We ventured last week
across the great waters
for reconnaissance
of the new improved SFMOMA
which, despite my ongoing cynicism, did not disappoint;
the food tasted less ridiculous than it looked, the galleries [Bruce Conner not shown, but highly recommended], wonderfully realized,
are amazing,
filled with truly astoundingly excellent stuff [including, but not limited to, Anselm Kiefer]
and Christmas is coming
to Benicia, for instance,
along with a cold wetness raining down on all those ruined and possibly soon to be displaced
artists across the land while we, the Fortunate, have our roof and heat and despite some minor setbacks will soon
depart for climes perhaps colder but considerably less damp as long as there is not too much danger on the passes.
We’ll see…
