Thursday I returned alone to the dogs for more grey May mornings,
sunny Benicia afternoons
and oranges, as usual…
[a painting, untitled, from ca. 1964]
The following Tuesday brought the much-anticipated Expedition to let the Landlocked Creatures See The Sea.
Princeton Harbor;
Montara Lighthouse;
Brother Kirk attempting to tempt Aggie the aquaphobe;
Eventually, increasingly confident, they become more curious…
…while Lefty, bolder still, anticipates one of those headlines like “elderly man drowns in sneaker wave trying to rescue dog! Dog, a fourteen year old heeler mix, swims to shore unharmed”.
A Nike sneaker wave, perhaps?
…and a Barracuda?
Goodbye to The Sea…
…hello to the air
and to Linda, returning from her adventures with the grandson.
More…
later.

A stellar day for the dogs on the coast! No fog for dogs…nice.
From sea playa to desert playa….have a safe summer trip, Bro.
Great to see ya (and the dogs).
Well they seems enthused if not ecstatic like my daughter’s dogs…..do it again!
Just bear in mind they’d NEVER seen an ocean before…took awhile to warm up to it…we’ll try it again!
Hey, when you are in the area, give me a call, I would love to see you.
Somehow, to a provincial like me, getting in line to get over the hills seems like a whole ‘nother ‘area’…we slipped in and out and went to the airport. But, next time, we’ll try to connect; would love to see you [and your curious fox] sometime soon…
And was it Happy Hour at the bar and did you choose a Kölsch .. pale fruity beer, like I did the other day?
and did you walk to the happy dog’s beach around the point?
and where’s the pic of the golf ball waiting for a giant to tee off over the ocean?
missed you by a couple hours it seems….!
Whhh?
You were there?
Not very beery myself I had one of what “he” was ‘aving… a rather filling draft, well ahead of the happiness hour.
Dogs went down by the lighthouse…
