Where the fuck did Monday go…oh, I dunno; do know I finally had to give up on the kids out Second after two months and two [and a half] mis-diagnoses of my worsening driveline woes…sad, as I really liked those guys, but not to the extent of imperiling the earthly vehicle.
The week after Albuquerque became one of record high temperatures…
…and morning sightings of London, the fabulous E Street dog, until sadly exiled to his rear yard to keep the Boy Friend’s Dog, a barky fence-jumper, company;
Tuesday remained mild enough to celebrate a new sculptural commission with dinner after sunset on the sidewalk outside Lucca…
and Wednesday brought a warming morning with mysterious craft on the strait…
followed by a pleasant afternoon presenting, albeit fruitlessly, paintings to possible collectors. Nice to see some of the old work nonetheless…and other pairings;
Friday took the Tundra to Vallejo for a more professional evaluation and once back drove the ’45 to the nearer edge of V-town where Seret Speed and Custom, aka Matt, had punched the holes in my spare hood, ver’ good, so while L was off making measurements for the Oakland Museum installation I figured how to fit it, which will, I’m sure, make the little truck much much faster.
Once the porous hood was fitted the rains returned pretty much nonstop all afternoon, all day Saturday
…and through the weekend.
That big blue thing was actually turned completely around right there in the channel Sunday afternoon; rust never sleeps, nor does the oil industry, but more soon.

Congrats on the hood and L’s new commission; very cool! That hot weather even hit our normally temperate coast; too toasty to sit out on the deck! And now the rains return, cold and gray, but welcome nonetheless for drought atonement. I’m in Incline Village this morning where the lake is finally full and gently lapping at the Tahoe City spillway and Sierra snowpack recorded at 87%. It’s wet and green up here but experts say more is moisture is needed to fully recover from years of dryness. Bring on the April showers!
