Returned to town in time to watch the Oxcarts with houseguests over a home-cooked meal, happy that though we saw only two movies last year the one we’d liked won a bunch of awards, and so on into the continuing mini-drought of February’s end;
First morning back a round of errands culminating in a trip to Vallejo to research louvers [not shown]…
… and down along the water in the afternoon,
The next day, L. fading so fast from flu she had to skip school, I reconnoitered the junkyards of American Canyon
…and located a not-quite-but-maybe possible “summer hood” for the ’45 at the end of Green Island Road [“to louver or not to louver” being the question]
…along with this unrealistic temptation just begging to be made into the baddest badass 4×4 ever, replete with a fine mid-forties hood as well if you like that sort of thing.
Undecided as to the hood, left it all behind as well as, soon enough, the balmy spring weather along the watery front;

Tires, American Canyon,
Friday; which by noon became altogether too wet for another trip out Green Island Road as the much-anticipated rains at last arrived…big time!
With winds continuing into and through the weekend, a foggy stormy venture into the Berkeley hills Saturday night was subsequently relieved by spectacular spates of Sunday morning sun
and a rare sighting of Dean’s ’52 Crestline after its coverings were shredded by those selfsame winds.
…and more, ever more, of the same. Or similar…
Breaking news, breaking sun…then rain again [not shown]
…a sunny morning; the E Street dog…
and a grey afternoon, spits of rain not shown…
More Benicia to follow, most likely.

I’m sorry to hear about Linda and the flu. I hope she gets better soon.
As she fights her way back I’m fighting to stay clear of it…a sketchy business all around…
