…continuing south to the glare of Fallon and less occluded air east, running against a tide of vintage Packards which peaked around lunchtime in Austin, no more to be seen though closely trailed by dozens of not-at-all vintage Corvettes [neither shown] as we climbed out of town to   Bob Scott campground, deserted;

After lunch crossed the increasingly overcast-to-rainy landscape into Utah, gas in Salina, for a welcome dinner on the Green River at the Tamarisk, which wine now makes more expensive, followed by a decent night’s sleep at the Six next door despite the sewage-fishy smell on the outside stairs…

      …the secure compound is a huge circle of shipping containers just over the RR tracks from Gerlach within which are immense amounts of junk, Burningman detritus, Burningman motorhomes, construction equipment, scrap, trailers; also serves as shipping and receiving for Courtney Transport…
