Onwarts into the morning

light with one hand holding a leash, camera cover and bag of “dog waste”, camera precariously perched in the other as Sumi lunged for a small attack pack of cocker spaniels who’d snuck up

from behind made getting the above image particularly tricky though come afternoon by the marina there was this and, between contemplating “antisemitic”* [defined linguistically or

ethnically, not according to some exclusionary bullshit “religion”, all those peoples are ‘semites’, so what could be more antisemitic than what the Israelis have been perpetrating for close to a century, eh?] and the threat of a “wintry mix” on the horizon the week leading towards all our

traditional solstice, returning of the light etc. festivities rolled merrily along including but not

limited to a visit to the local healthcare provider, jus’ checkin’, comfortable in the knowledge that no racist totalitarian anti-semitic state** will be blowing it up during my visit.

Another and warmer day of cognitive dissonance began with Sumi

and I running into Mark, local machinist and caretaker of an original ’46 GMC, on our walk

before the new mattress was delivered, the old one having never been quite right.

The day wound down with the annual Christmas Cruise down First

from which the ’45 and I

abstained, hanging with dogs by the barbecue, while

Sunday the wintry mix finally came sliding in…

precip at last!  A little, anyway.

*Well if “ceasefire now” is, um, “antisemitic” I guess all I can say to the racist fucks who think that is…well, I’m [expletives deleted] speechless.

**So now the chosen peoples have chosen the Netanyahu/settler kleptocracy to be their newest, lowest and most egregious iteration of government…a gang who will courageously settle for nothing less than the total eradication of their neighbors.  Nothing less.

“a gang who will courageously settle for nothing less than the total eradication of their neighbors”… I wish you were wrong here, but I don’t think so.

I’m in the “more bummed than I should be” club, too. I made the mistake of turning on the radio while I was out only to find out that Palestinian deaths have exceeded 20,000 (not counting dead people under the rubble). When is this going to stop? The Israelis are giving Jews a bad name. Anyway, nice ’46 GMC.

I was going to comment on your blog about growing up admiring Israel [as all Americans were taught], having friends who lived on kibbutzes in gap years, “making the desert bloom” without being told how the Jordan River, returned to its banks after agricultural diversions, was rendered a polluted trickle if anything, buying into all the other propaganda/shit despite mounting evidence of how badly behaved they were as a political entity until the late eighties when Luz studied the origins and original documents his first year in high school woke me up up to the reality, cruelty, cynicism and hypocrisy of the entire program from its Zionist inception. Not the Jews’ fault as the whole deal was inherent vice incarnate, leading to one corrupt lying government after another which have gotten more corrupt, cynical and hypocritical with each iteration. Admittedly fanatical belief systems don’t help much, either, unless one is looking to perpetrate a genocide. Anyway, I guess I’m doing it here…Happy Solstice!

I’ll take the Wittgenstein dodge: “Of which one cannot speak one must be silent” I don’t like it but I’ll take it.
