Well sort of settling in; one thing after another from carwashings to Covid shots
trips to the market,
walks around the block, trying to acclimate to the damp…trying to remember what to
notice here
but then there were Ducks, an early Thanksgiving given for Bryan ahead of the duck at his
mother’s on the Actual Day, a quiet one here, still trying to get into the spirit of the place.
November light, right?
…something still bugs me about the transition, though
we’ll figure it out.
Linda’s book came, colorated similarly to the GoodGuys’ “Hotrod of the Year”, and exceeded
expectations, which was great and a great relief where
here two weeks to the day after that lunch at Lucca we walked
around the block in November cold, took a last
[and unaccountably weary] bike ride down along the afternoon waters and at the very end
made what may well be a last nostalgic visit to Gabby’s, not what it once was; just us and the
Monday night football over the bar as the city [in its entirety, seemingly] outside struggled with a broken fire hydrant. A martini, old vine zin, gnocchi, chicken then home in the night…
Maybe it’s the concrete.
Well, at least you’re back!
The book looks great.
The concrete is definitely part of it…and hard on the feet!
I think it’s More Stuff in your field of vision, vs. the mountain spaces of CO. and the wide open spaces of NV. I feel that as we move in and out of our PA mountain country for days in NYC. Of course all the inter-personal relationships change in each place too.
Where do we buy Linda’s book?
We’ll know where to get the book after her book signing on the 9th…probably directly from KANEKO. So far they’re being coy about it.
You may be a bit dazed from a changed fall schedule and confused from too many venues, but your camera certainly settled in just fine, capturing many curious compositions around town. The another dose of the desert should get you squared away before more holidaze.
