climate warriors; how do you like loco law Enforcement? It might have been a mistake to pull that stunt on the Rez, however, where, given all the aggravation of the burners’ migration with few if any of the benefits, the population and its lawn ‘forcement are understandably already at wit’s end…plus of course by blocking 447 the warriors were [theoretically anyway] annoying the choir; after all, those inconvenienced are the guys who “put solar panels on their motorhomes” when they go to BM. Of course those panels don’t run the AC in those ‘homes 24/7 out on the playa, but whatevs’, what’s good for greenwashing is good for Burnerville…
Anyway all that occurred a day or so after and miles away from our foggy morning trip
to the ‘burg where though it may be true nothing’s for free disposing of the trash is sure cheaper than in California; six bucks for the last five weeks’ two bags and recycling IS free.
We went on into town for food and a visit to the ‘bib where L. touched up work destined for Omaha in the seemingly new season’s autumnal light and temperature and that night, just
past the half moon, had a last dinner with Patsy and Jon, who’d come out to help close their
cabin in the Manzaneres and drive back with her to Inverness. Another indication of summer’s
end…The week then began bright and clear but with, as Dean [see below] would say
the Thunder Beings lurking around Greenhorn,
bringing rain many afternoons. Meanwhile we finally got up to his studio,
saw paintings and such…
[this last something from Luz, I think],
the view from there,
the views within
and, down the road, runoff from those rains, though leaving the dome the Beings were in
abeyance until evening when they returned to deliver most welcomely.
Onwards…
I watch a UTube video about the short blockade of Burning Man. My main take away was to be amazed at how f—k seems to be the new adjective of choice for all the participants. Enough of that.
Cops included…

I’ve been sort of fascinated with Burning Man being rained in.
It also showed how just an inch of elevation on the playa can make a huge difference in what dries when and what doesn’t..I’ve been, as you can see, beyond fascinated for weeks…
