As for me, I needed a haircut which Linda, the 3D person, sculpted just before
our brother-in-law Dave glided in from Kansas in time to walk large dogs around the perimeter
prior to meeting Other [transplanted*] Massachusettians for a most pleasurable dinner
…so pleasurable, in fact, that we all ventured down to Mountain Water the next day for a visit
before lunch to check on, among other things, how the cutting from our Habib Pear was doing,
[hard to see, but it’s hangin’ in there] then later,
while the Model 3 fed off our dryer socket, Dave made us elaborately delicious fish burritos
and the next morning, another Thursday, we climbed the knoll
before he left for Taos, leaving us to watch a considerable
lightning show to the south while feasting on the remaining fish burrito fixings…
Friday the weather had definitely rounded the corner towards fall
but we’ll give it another few days, waiting and seeing.
…nonetheless, with another Temple Burn [and FLCA] on the horizon can winter be far behind, um?

Just be thankful you don’t live in Gerlach where the Burnocracy has bought up all the rental properties in an attempt to corner the market for their own people for three or so months of the year [rendering the town’s meagre housing stock unaffordable for everyone else] and where for the past and next week at least there’s a constant parade of vehicles clogging the one street through town in both directions, often at such a standstill that burners relieve themselves in people’s yards. Not a pretty picture…but don’t object or the Rangers will get ya!
Excellent point about sending all that BM wood to Maui; but what about the hair? Surely there could be a green or artistic use of those white locks somewhere!
Looks like a great (and tasty tacos) visit with DC; the leftover tacos with light show must have been wonderful. Nice photos, as usual. The ethereal shot of DC driving the Tesla with clouds is quite nice and I wonder why the rain splattered dust doesn’t stay on the strip above his windows, next to glass roof? Just curious as hail didn’t damage my roof, but that strip and other body panels were equally dimpled.
Aerodynamics, or something [about the splatters] but since your Y was stationery it’s a mystery…hope you get it fixed soon.
Ahhh, Burning Man! You forgot to mention all the people coming at least part way in private planes.
ALL the way in private planes! They do maintain an FAA approved landing strip on the playa…But now there are busses from the Reno Aereoprto as well…
Ditto remarks about your remarks about Burning Man. I remember my brother Tom going on about the “hipoisie” that was growing in Santa Cruz and I think that’s BM. Love the rainy misty photos.
