Everything all at once continues…

Wednesday was the crush and crash of packing foods into ice chests and loading them

before some last California gas.  Next stop Eagle Lakes,

after that first Nevada Gas in Wadsworth [not shown but considerably cheaper] and

the lake* for lunch, too windy for dogs.  It ended up taking all of

five hours to Wall where Seth ‘n’ Sonny were messing about with some gardening as I unloaded the perishables and had just gotten them into the house when L. arrived to offload the stuff around the washer from Taco** to repo and move it over to the east porch so I could offload

repo stuff from the Tundra** before Scott showed up with a 16′ Penske van…while the “S” crew proceeded to wrap and load “Helios” I ferried what remained in the Tundra to the house, L and I moved the old washer as far as we could [discovering in the process the problem had probably been a clogged drain line, no más] before corralling the crew to offload the new one, hook it up and load the [not so] old one into the Taco, Taco moved back around and…phew.  Seth and Sonny took off to begin dealing with Dave’s [seems most likely they hadn’t done anything over there as yet and he was due Monday] while we and Scott settled in to dinner and an earlyish night.  Friday morn we called in the dogs as he called out goodbye and heard the truck fire up, disappearing towards the eventual interstate, destination Omaha.

We subsequently arose to a first  day of [not quite] summer on the desert with families of geese, soon dispersed by Large Breed Dogs, on the upper pond the waters still not all that

encouraging but otherwise…well, otherwise clear and colder than it might look though…

springly green.

Days, a few days, went by without incident

as paintbrush gardens flourished in specific microclimates

and chillier days ensued…

turning breezily to dust

by lunch, barely warm enough for dining out…

but fine for working outside [in moderation, being eighty] and the evening’s walkings.

Well we’ll see…

*East of Reno “the Lake” of course becomes Pyramid.

**Three paintings, a flat screen TV, six packing blankets, 120 pounds of large breed dog food…at the house it was the handtruck and several bags of clothing, then the washing machine.

***Thirteen paintings, then back to house to offload dry foods, clothing, computer, cases of wine etc. etc…heaviness stuff.

The sequence of the images was lovely, especially the stretch starting with Linda’s lacy sculpture to the felled trees and beyond. I love the tender spring colors of the desert flora.
