Beyond…

Errands without cease ever interspersed

with Interesting Evenings,

and mornings’ walks, though Friday’s was unfortunate; the spooked dog Sumi knocked me down while trying to navigate around a couple of weird wide dudes on First Street first thing

resulting in what became a most painfully swollen thumb but then once Christine,

a week delayed, arrived we made another Trip to Town

to see Eva’s show in Francesca Pastine’s diminutive project space before moving on to the

Mission… tried for La Taquería but the lines were out the door

so 24th down

to La Torta Gorda with our native guide Sola Seligman [and family, not shown] for tortas or

enchiladas poblanos on my part under cloudy but not quite rainy weekend skies before Utah

Street, Meridel, Linda and,

upstairs at Hosfelt, the last day

of Cornelius T. Volker’s masterfully massive still lifes.

Back on the street, late afternoon, seeking coffee and illumination at the

Minnesota Street Project where nothing was as memorable so

back to the barking dogs and subsequently some bright and chill

Sunday sunshine, all of which

wrapped up with another weekend party, this one lavishly barbecued by Luz and friends.

It’s definitely been a Learning Experience for Dogs, albeit Cosmos is proving himself a slow learner.

Sorry about the Sumi tsunami, hope you’re OK.
Smart thinking to land on your thumb instead of your head.
Great pictures as usual; especially the Great Wall garden center, Izel’s hat & 24th St mural pose, Hosfelt’s window wall, Volker’s massive botanical pieces, the tarped convertible Suzuki and your shadow shots (yellow road signs, etc).
Looking forward to seeing you next month!

Actually the thumb was a quick second to the right side of my face, but sustained the more lasting [ten days later still not perfect] damage.
All’s well, though two weeks without napping was taking its toll.

Loved the strange ferns looming above the fence.
Looks like a nice family visit and fun to see Izel growing up.
