Benicia the morning after Vancouver, morning before the day of our quiet ducky Thanksgiving
[thanks, duck], rained. With dogs rampant no morning photos ever, only occasional afternoons
with mostly moody low clouds and glassy grey waters. Intermittent bike rides and
endless petty errands on all fronts led up to gathering, packing, loading and eventual departure
all the while weathering the depression of pollution; crap like this didn’t used to pile up
on everything in the studio, the house, the everywhere. These below are just puppies opening doors by trial and error but the schmutz on the drawing above is new since the fall fires.
Where it keeps coming from at this late date no one knows but it can’t be good for anybody…
After our last holiday socializing was deterred due to Saturday’s storm we shut down
and went off to the West…hoping nothing’s been forgotten.
The egret is beautiful, as is the whole series in grey. If the black dog showed up and my door and looked at me like that I would take him in instantly (that’s not an offer). On a recent beautifully almost Spring-like day the blue heron made an appearance, carefully but accurately fishing in what seems to be his favorite corner of the only pond on which I’ve seen him. Strange times nevertheless.
On our way this [Monday] morning to see if “our” great blue will be in residence at the Wall Spring ponds…
Hummm, starting and ending with a black puppy on a red davenport. Looks like they have moved in to stay.
And speaking of that image of the dog on the banquette, so calm and poised, not at all like you describe him/her and it’s sibling. Always enjoy the image of the post with various backgrounds and was saying to myself upon looking at it: Michael can make Benicia look so lovely. Then I went to the next image…..not that I don’t appreciate that image, but is not lovely. I would be worried about constant schmutz as well.
