A celebratory dinner was in order, regardless…additionally because Luz, having spent all of ten minutes crossing into Canada Saturday evening followed by a spectacular drive west,
had reached his home and family in Vancouver safely. Next morning we entered the puppies into the witness protection plan – new county, new names [“Dot” became “Sumi”; “Bowtie” would now be “Cosmos”] – so they could begin exploring their new world.
Which, being puppies, led to naps and that was pretty much [aside from a visit from our vet,
who rode over on her electric bicycle to administer nearly overdue shots Wednesday]
how the week went. Everybody saw lots of new things, got plenty of exercise
and even made it up the creek where the new not-so-littles experienced Water in the Wild
[Not adequately shown; fast-moving black blobs are hard to photograph.
Unless at rest] for the first time.
Strangely enough and to our great relief Aggie was not at all aggravated by the change to her
life and in fact adjusted happily to having friends of her own species, something that in the past
had been problematic. It’s been gratifying to watch, though tinged with sadness
remembering how lacking her puppyhood was in happy puppiness, what with being thrown in with two cranky old bachelors at a very tender age. Now, however…
So with endless shots of Black Blobs in the Woods we laid waste our days…
at least until Saturday.
Glad Aggie is happy with her new gifts!
I laughed. I cried. What a thrill it must be for the new pups.
Especially like the shot with threesome on the road.
I posted this on my FB page in response to a few other posts. I thought of you immediately and want to share it:
I’ve now read several reports on another site of people who have lost their dogs by letting them swim in ponds that are affected by blue-green algae. It is absolutely toxic to dogs and they can get sick and die within hours of exposure. Everyone who has dogs must pay attention to this. The algae is not necessarily visible.
There are some pretty rough stories out there, so use every precaution.
The puppies are marvelous!

Well we have duckweed and who knows what else at Wall Spring so will be scared and aware [when we get there]…a cautionary tale.
New Puppyness=Happiness.
They look like a lot of fun x 2.
That’s great Aggie thinks so too!
You must be a tad exhausted.
Between Giant Puppies and the Libre social whirl, yes indeed, more than a tad…
Puppies! How terrific. We just make do with an aging cat.
You may be better off…we’re going to have to resort to lying to motel keepers to secure shelter as we travel west [two ‘pet’ limit]. Plus Cosmos will soon exceed the maximum weight those people allow…
or AirBnBs.
