More Benicia…

Friday night was warm enough to sit out at Gabby’s with Gregg and Kathryn,

eating more than we were used to and having good times generally…followed that up Saturday

with a longish pleasant lunch in the garden with Colorado exiles currently more permanently of El Cerrito Eva B. and John N., our usual co-conspirators Jon and Patsy unable to join us,

as the “Sally Rose”, a gift from my now late aunt [actually cousin] Betty after my mother died in 2002 which has against all odds flourished in our laissez-faire garden these many years since,

put forth its annual blooms.

Sunday saw

a rather discouraging attempt to navigate navigate the annual Classic Car Show where unlike previous years when we’d walked the length of First, out the jetty and back, I drove down

to within a couple of blocks but the walking made it hard to concentrate

on what was there. I walked six long blocks, took a few pics of the bright and shiny things

lining two of them [note Del Monte Forest badge],

hobbled back to the ’45 and came home contemplating knee surgery.

After lunch we thought we might catch the major exodus while eating ice cream

on the bench by the Capitol but there were only a random few

until late afternoon when I caught more at the H Street stop sign…

That being that as a chump’s gratuitous war carries on in clueless stupidity elsewhere, oh well.

Really sorry about those painful body parts and hope they can miraculously improve soon.
Despite your curtailed documentation of the car show, you managed to get lots of good shots at the H street stop sign, thanks!!

So sorry you couldn’t enjoy the cars with your usual zest. Love that red one with the Del Monte Forest tag. I will keep my eyes out for it. Still lots of flash and color.
