So thanks to Kathryn Weller Renfrow and the stellar help of the Art Gallery Committee [Flory Nye-Clement and Jean Purnell with the written materials and press while for the orchestration
of the reception Patty Gavin with Carolyn Cadloni did a most able and welcoming job] we had our Saturday opening at the Library which looked something like this as documented by my

Red Tank, acrylic on cardboard [in vitrine with prints from the Auto Biographies]
Patty and Carolyn did a stellar job keeping up with the hors d’oeuvres throughout which I regretted not sampling having remained mostly by the fountain, receiving waves of
seldom-seen friends and enthusiasts until five, then fled down the street to our rapidly chilling
garden where Elviarita’s laid out a taco bar for a dozen or so brave souls, some of whom stayed on past what seemed like midnight [though it was really barely 8pm]…
All this was, however, only A Beginning.
To compare to the pre-covid iteration go here.
So glad to see the show in complete detail. It almost makes up for not being able to see it in person. The work is beautiful, the show coherent without seeming even for a moment academic. Wonderful. Profuse thanks from FK
Your show is exquisite. I didn’t think it was possible to open up your paintings even more than they were, but you have. It’s almost as if the pandemic stripped away the last layer, and now you’re actually floating WITH the space. Kudos, Michael. We all know how difficult it is to say so much with so little.
Thanks for this post. Although it can’t compete with being there in person, it’s an excellent record of your work and a terrific way to reflect on seeing your show again, from afar.
It looks like a great show, Mike. Congrats!
I’m SO GLAD your work is finally available for public viewing at the library, though sad it didn’t happen while I was there. And I visited the exhibition on the Monday after the opening. Very beautiful.
Great to see so many attractive elders. The art was a delight. Maybe we will be able to get to Linda’s show . It also is inviting.
Xoxo,
Sandy
Ah, elders…hope you do see Linda’s. Excellent sushi just a couple of blocks up…
