So after Mattress Day the Dog was dying…

[just one thing after another]. After our Fabulous Foray into the New Frisco we spent a day shuffling beds in an attempt to create an Improved Resting Place, an effort that may have succeeded.  But we’ll see. Then, just to make things more interesting, Aggie became

listless, refused all foods and without going into the gory details after a day of this we took her to the animal hospital where $800 later learned she was experiencing a blockage in her small intestine necessitating a $3500.00 preferably immediate operation to alleviate but

as the schedule couldn’t be freed up she went home, hydrated but quietly miserable, until the following morning.  First thing it was back to the vet for the Big Incision to be followed by weeks of coneheaded convalescence but barely an hour later they called to say that, anaesthetized

on the table, she’d relaxed into passing an avocado pit just before the first cut…milagro.

This allowed her to return after lunch, weakened but unscathed, which in turn allowed us

another trip into the city, Saturday traffic notwithstanding,

for the Ted Purves Social Practice Celebtratory Scholarship Fundraiser, which was everything

advertised and more and a perfect opportunity to reconnect with Linda’s many CCA friends…

Sunday the dogs walked separately as Aguilar remained diminished from her Ordeal

which temporarily allowed me the lost luxury of morning photography,

for whatever that’s worth.

Additionally after Ted’s thing I was reading an eloquent meditation on the seditious sediments

still undermining the foundations of this country

but then…

waxing [yes really; waxing maintains the patina, y’all]

into spring without a

worry about the dryness of February, eh?  Other places be hella wet, or so it’s said.

Maybe…so for now I’ll just worry about my eyes,

and we’ll see what we see in 2020.

So you guys got the Jessica Ingram book and photograph? I placed the first bid on that. Looking forward to buying my own carpet at some point. Really glad to see you at the benefit! It was a happy occasion, although perhaps bittersweet would be a better way to describe it.

Copy, yes…but no photograph; Linda ordered one as soon as she read about it. Beautiful book, worthy project, well worth having.

Wow!, sorry to hear about Aggie and the close call to spending $3,500 but glad it worked out. And especially glad you can get back to photoing for our enjoyment.

Well now that she’s recovered I’m back to being dragged around by the two dogs again and anticipating a pause for cataract surgery this morning…can’t wait to see your DV pics1

Wholly recuperated! But I’ve been cautioned not to throw those tings for her anymore…

So glad to hear avocado Aggie made a miraculous recovery. Guess you’ll be buying the extra small avocados from now on, eh?
I hope after the cataract surgery you can now see clearly past 2020 and let us know WTF will happen!

I have to say that having seen you flicking avo pits for the dogs after you slice them I always wondered……So glad she is recuperating and that you did not have to spend $3,500.

That’s one expensive avocado! That’s why no one can afford to buy houses in California!

    Glad Aggie is ok; phew
