We enjoy a peaceful couple of days dedicated to ditch-cleaning, pants-patching, watercolor-making and restoring Saturday’s wind-dispersed blankets to the slab, cool under Sunday’s skies, bright under Monday’s…still and chill early mornings.
Tuesday up at sunrise to tour the park, roll down the desert and over the dry Sierra…
… ridiculous traffic from Sacramento heading like sheep to the Vacaville outlet stores and the radio say “Black Friday All Weekend!”…all week…all month! Vache-ville. Yeah, right. [My apologies to actual sheep and cows for this, and happy holidays to all of you, too]
Down the hill and across the valley as National Propaganda Radio endlessly ponders and pontificates over a different emanation of late stage capitalism [the rage stage] in Ferguson, Missouri, where it’s more about blackening stores than any silly sales of the silly stuff inside them…
Here in Benicia nobody’s burning up the downtown, at least not yet, which is more than can be said for elsewhere in this great land of ours the week before Thanksgiving; all quiet on First Street, heading into the Daze…
So, hey…peace while it lasts.
And hope we all had a great Thanksgiving, with much to be thankful for…
M
still can’t even imagine those desert skies
yeah well you oughta come back sometime1
…again, I like the way yellow seeps into the desert light
Love the shot with the two trailers.
I hope it is late stage capitalism, but I am not so sure. Maybe early, late-stage capitalism.
