Up into the smokes…

First off, one of those unexpected little details, the springs on the Tundra are kinda separating after the 1200 mile trailer haul and everything preceding, but it turns out there’s Valley Spring in Dixon who will loan me an office chair to sit in a little patch of shade and contemplate a 1938 Cadillac cabriolet while they bang away on them…also the dogs got lots of attention from various nice delivery ladies while being walked around the adjacent industrial wastelands…

P1030286 P1030287 P1030292An hour and a half later we were headed back over the Sierra; heavy smoke from Auburn thinning in Truckee, thickening with a vengeance coming down into Sierra Valley and not really letting up until old Nevada CR 33 [what f–ing google calls it now I don’t even want to know]…but we only outran it briefly; at Sand Pass the camera began to malfunction and after a few splops of rain unloading at Wall became hopeless; I was lucky to get these last few images out of it…and after carrying around a spare all summer, foolishly hadn’t.

Well; at least the moths are back at Wall, heading for wherever they came from.

Ick.
