Monthly Archives: August 2024

More summery days, a summary

well while waiting to see what new lies Felonious Trump’s surrogate REMF comes up with as he trails the Harris/Walz campaign vying for the attention they are enjoying we continued to

enjoy the mountain mahoganys’ exuberances until finally one fine morning I even made it

as far as the Libre Library before daily offsite obligations – two mornings’ running – intruded.

The first took us to Gardner for Desireé and the next day, low on provisions, down to ‘burg

where the recently Privatized Dump is definitely more expensive, groceries seem so too and

on Highway 69 the roadwork goes on and on…infrastructure, babe…and weather; yes, rain.

Friday brought some fun news – a delightful duck story from the Guardian, as well as the hilarity of Trump’s “brownout”*, all followed by a pretty effortless filling of the water on an anomalously

cool – this being August, right, with record temps, fires, etc. in every other direction – day

followed by a long-awaited dinner with Bill and Muriel to catch up on near a year away as well

as hear about her recent ecstatic week backpacking above timberline.  A fine time was had…

*In all fairness to The Donald, however, he does appear to sincerely believe that everything he says he believes happened and is True. Weirdly enough and despite much evidence to the contrary his astonishing numbers of followers believe every [and any-] thing he says to be true, too.
