The Industrial Luncheonette

As long as one is able to avoid the masked marauders who descend on Benicia Desperately

seeking Diversion, weekends particularly [and, as can be seen, this proved entirely possible],

all was generally quiet.

With very little January remaining it unaccountably warmed, allowing breakfasts out

as well as midday meals to be taken in the industrial luncheonette, which was as true the first

day of February as the last day of January, 2021.

First day of February brought back Weather by day’s end,

rain by night and mysterious thunderings sounding scarily like huge fuzzy-footed footfalls

on the roof or maybe even in the kitchen around midnight, all gone by morning…

Other days were bright but damp leaving

the ’45 under wraps until near the end of the week

when “April” moved back in with a vengeance…will there ever be any more Winter?

I’m uneasy…but it’s just the times. And everything else.
