I sometimes wonder about this strange suburbia…

P1020099P1020303…located in a county where the Repuppetlican commissioner can take over an outlying town’s community center and with impunity throw their library in the dumpster to make room for his allies, cronies and the hacks and flacks of Shell, BP, to celebrate selling the minerals [and the river and more than all the water in it] down the river for fracking purposes while the local Electrical Co-op, or co-opt, merrily actively discourages any and all forms of renewable energy; these be theĀ  waves of the future, as writ and ridden in on by the fossil fools who rule this country, this county, and so on…

On the other hand, we have sunsets, forests, an idiosyncratic roof over our heads, rain…

…and dogs, and the thought that there might maybe be, elsewhere, some other kind of space in case a person needs it…

[last picture, Smoke Creek Desert, L. Fleming, more than seven years ago…back when it rained there, and there was still Dazzle too…]

But we’re good…

Oh, thought you were talking about Gerlach, or “Gridlock,” as it’s called in a work in progress by M. Sykes called, tentatively: “Gridlock: Family in Crisis.” The other major work shaping up is “In Search of the Holy Gale,” which should be found by one of the larger studios any day, as long as they realize I’m not the screenwriter, only the location scout/idea man. I’ll sketch it out for them, but they have to paint it.

I liked seeing the ‘community’ spread out on various hills with mountains in the background, in the past it seems that I have just seen more close-ups of your and Linda’s places/studios. That sunset brought back memories of the New Mexico sunsets we experienced when Katie lived there….
