Monday midday we take the subway to MOMA with Arlene…
…to meet the Bed Stuy crew soon after and progress upstairs to lunch and grandmotherly appreciation [Arlene having four of the little creatures].
After which, same floor, Walid Raad; very dense, intense…Beirut.
and, another floor up, the protean Picasso…
Peacetime, wartime; works from times sporadic, various…he drops in on himself, cuts back out for years of painting…drops in again…
We exit satiated, con bambino;
And take that long subway ride from MOMA to Bklyn to find it, surprisingly, still daytime;
One and all go out for an early and most enjoyable dinner at local favorite Seraghina [not shown], then L. and I take the “A” to West Fourth Street [positively]…
…and subsequently Bleecker; nobody home – our third New York night.
M
now THOSE were an interesting side of Picasso
….always figured Pablo would drop in on just about anybody….but dropping in on himself reveals serious mastery…
short guys are almost always the best riders on the storm….
I agree with Bryan…the Picassos were interesting and nicely displayed. Loved your soaring shots of MOMA, better that the real thing!
