But first, the week that was that was a mere four dinner parties back to back to back, the first one, Tuesday, up at Dean’s enjoying Izel,
Then, after our daily constitutional [wherein Mary Ann embraces los perros], the feast that followed Muriel’s [far right, below] membership meeting [first new Libre member in over a decade unless the community’s resident Demon [not in attendance and not shown] queers it];
Above, Leon at the meeting and the view across Bill and Muriel’s raised beds [from whence came the salads]…then two [not shown] evenings here for dear friends from Santa Fe culminating Saturday with four young [-er than us] folks from New York along as well. After a brief respite it was Walsenburg first thing Monday to register the truck, too blithered to remember the phone so an additional plan to visit La Veta, site of the art opening missed Saturday, was abandoned, returning home instead to endless laundry from up the hill…also not shown.
[Mary Ann’s garden; even more bountiful than Safeway’s!
A day and a night or two alone, tamales and then Tuesday, as soon as we could, cleaning and laundering for the next round;
The next round being a stellar evening Wednesday – ending with six of us eating grilled peaches on the porch as Perseids fell; next morning our overnight guests were gone before we woke and the eve brought electricity instead of meteors…
Somewhere in there I managed to pretty much paint myself out of a job, finishing two of the three 4×6’s [not all shown] as well as, earlier, others…
…plus most days, save Monday, we made it up the creek, a walk my mother always loved.

Busy, busy, busy! I’m exhausted just reading about your activities. Yet, you somehow find time to take great pictures and write a blog. Impressive! Sounds like great weather, friends, food, relatives and, as usual, art.
Looking forward to the next installment!
Too busy for me but it does sound like fun.
I can see where you might not want to go to another dinner, so I won’t press. if you feel like socializing, give a call. J is here until the 30th of the month and i leave right after Labor Day.
Nice paintings!
Loved the series of light and sky changes taken from the same location.
