among other things, very reassuring about the belief systems of the 41% of the population who are reputed to think that anyone who believes in human rights, the Geneva Convention,
rule of law, climate change or Science is Automatically the AntiChrist [41% is a whole LOT of people] but anyway we were too engagingly distracted being entertaining to worry about war criminals, ICEholes, weaponized crypto pyramids etc etc…for one thing there was Sunday, over-
cast and damp, with runs in the ’45 to Safeway and One House just ahead of our Albuquerque
visitors’ arrival for lunch and an afternoon hanging out wherein, among other things, John and I explored the 1894 syphilis map of Russia Linda’s friend Abby had linked to in an email but then, as the short day wound down, went across the street to theĀ local liquor emporium for some wine ahead of the new clothes dryer delivery [and installation] during dinner prep during which
Bryan arrived bearing floor lamps from Carl Street…and a good time was had by all although some stayed up a bit beyond their octogenarian bedtimes…morning, the usual grey, John, Roberta and Linda endured what turned out to be exceptionally mediocre breakfasts at Lucca
while I, the Taco having failed to start, headed for the coast in Linny’s Mini with minimal
interference, reaching El Granada in less than an hour for a mini family reunion at Kirk and
Brenda’s where sister Kathy and Dave were laying over enroute to Rossland from the big familial Thanksgiving in Del Mar which Kirk, having just survived a major back surgery, had missed…lavish burrito-ish fish tacos on the sunny deck were followed by a walk out Princeton’s
scenic pier after which I headed north to rush hour [took about 45 minutes more to get home]
and the chill overcast of Benicia’s Tuesday…
which lightened up a bit by late morning,
allowing us to lunch at the luncheonette and, for me,
a ride down into afternoon’s glare to
our much less commercial marina, ah.
Meanwhile the re-shelving project, on hiatus throughout the weekend, returned fitfully to life
with breaks to drop off the ’45, pick up the Tundra* and fit in another afternoon ride
down along the waters, Our Christian Waters…
*Timing belt replacement and a rear sway bar, trying to get it to handle more like the Tacoma.

41% seems awfully high. I would sure like to see the questionnaire that showed 41% of people did not believe in the rule of law. If 41% of people didn’t believe in the rule of love, just imagine what the lines would be like at a football game or rock concert.
I know, it does seem alarmingly suspicious…but alarming us seems to be SOP these days.
BTW, I’m really liking your re-shelving project. Mine seems to be perpetual.
