Monthly Archives: October 2022

Second to last

week, though these here were years before – the one in the middle still with us [at 14 1/2]

but her companions [Speckle to the left, Lefty on the right] long gone.  Here and about now

though, colder days

and a bit of belated color coming on up Dry Creek

along with the local architectures.

Tuesday morning we ventured as far as the steps and somewhere along the way

or

way back I twisted a foot

which by evening’s walk was giving a bit of trouble

and by morning was quite noticeable.  I skipped the walk and we drove to Gardner, Colorado

City and on to Gagliano’s to begin The Errands of Pueblo; limped through Safeway and 80/20,

then rellenos at Girasole’s and after those and a brief foraging in the Vitamin Cottage

Linda drove home to ultimate collapsings.

Nonetheless Thursday was Betsey’s 75th Birthday, a Libre Libra party from late afternoon

to early evening’s chill and chance to see many folks known and unknown [even after thirty plus years] to me…live music, lots of food, octogenarians too.  Libre itself was 54 this year, hey…

The next, somewhat diminished [aftermath of weird-to-me foods disturbing of sleep, as was Monday following an unaccustomed Abundance of Cheese] day, I did manage a look upstairs

and determined, yes, maybe a few things were sufficiently wrapped up to make the Journey

West…

Well we’ll see.
