A last week in California,

a last day in January wherein Scott came over and we finally got the radiator in, then the

first day of February it was across the waters to Mill Valley, a place I once frequented frequently

long ago but only rarely now…this now being an elegant lunch with Linda’s former student and recent PhD Sarah Bird and husband Scott [different Scott] in their sun-filled hillside home

overlooking downtown…salades nicoise, Heathware mugs, Blix the dog and lots of conversation, much of it delving into the suspiciously abrupt demise of CCA until we returned

across the waters

to a very light dinner and Monday, all the way to F Street walking

then the bike…Tuesday the fog was back, I took the three block alley option and we then

had a surprise and most welcome – if brief! – visit from our old compadre Enrico

before I took the newly re-radiatored to Safeway without incident [or hood].

Wednesday’s foggy trip down the alley preceded some slow packing before the sun burned

through just before lunch, a lunch followed by the Mysterious Appearance of a Dead Squirrel

followed by a ride down along the still mostly misty shore,

the Nevada Departure delayed a day as things just take longer…

still slowly loading [and getting the hood on the ’45] through Thursday, finishing up

with a ride down to the Marina just in time to see the Maritime Academy’s “Little Bear” putt in to

put in, not your everyday occurrence…
