Here in California often not,
though weathering weirdness we are ever awaiting rain.
Which comes and goes, never enough,
leaving the Industrial Luncheonette dry by noon
with more on the way overnight. Some nights, anyway.
As time and fantasías roll by and maybe, no, I don’t need a lifted ’05 Tundra with 17″ wheels,
though I might need one more gently used than what I got…and I might need to decide pretty quickly what needs to go into that one that needs to move up to Wall Spring.
Which was duly done and meanwhile,
as of Friday, we are said to be Immune…to the current iteration of the teeny tiny deadly virus if not the ongoing depredations of out fellow humans, in honor of which – but not whom – we
took ourselves to Gabby’s for a celebratory dinner out [not shown, and not out either as all
outside tables were taken], protracted due to distracted service but rich in memories and…food. Morning brought more typically March-ish winds
and afternoon, ditto, the town rife with humans despite, swarming in anticipation of that
arbitrary idiocy Daylight “Savings” which even more stupidly they seem to be trying to make permanent…so for half or a third of the year we all can awake to an extra hour of darkness.
Brilliant. Why not just leave “time” be and allow the light to grow and diminish as it will?
Sunday wasn’t so sunny anyway; the “new” time was adjusted to, dogs were in ‘n’ out and afternoon’s light was utterly unworthy of picture taking…plus the hordes continued, re-creating or whatever it is they come for.
At any rate come the dawn came bitterly cold winds from the west, making a person happy
to have a mouth-warming mask for walking the shore before a busy day of provisioning,
shuffling vehicles
and clearing Linda’s studio in anticipation of future further work.
All of which kept Sumi edgy. That Border Collie mentality; “Everything in its place [always]
and…no wolves!”
OK.
Moss on boulders and stones and green water–marvelous. But as usual all the others too. Did you spring for the shiny blue monster?
Vibrant viewing…the cold comes across! And I have a case of “Gabby’s Envy”…
The blue monster could cut through a lot of mud!
Um, mud, yesss…but it was too far away and too high up [lifted]. Gabby’s has been a solace for us for years, particularly those many when Linda had classes followed by the commute from Oakland or SF; we’d stumble down there in the dark for the martini and the zin, usually have the back room all to ourselves. It’s good he’s managed to survive the past crazy year, for sure.
Moving lotsa work to the Repository soon?
As usual, great photo documentation!
Greetings temporarily from Michigan.
Moved and as of the following weekend still putting it away…
We are similar down here. A bitter cold wind always comes off the ocean at this time of year. I remember surfing trips that were abandoned at the Summit….could this be? I liked the blue color, but it seemed a bit flashy…I dunno. I got my #2 jab yesterday and am feeling a bit weird. I felt this way , but less, after #1 but did not realize it was connected to the vaccine. Love the way you see Benicia.
After getting the first shot I was able to transfer all my paranoia about “symptoms” to the more comforting idea of “side effects”…
