Monthly Archives: June 2025

To the low[er] lands on an afternoon in June.

[This was, however, just before the weekend so embarrassing to OLD* that his fellow felon buddy Bibi did him the favor of turning the media’s attention away from it by starting WWWlll]

So this one’s actually Fish Creek Mountain [7081′], Blowout [7128] being hidden behind but once on 8A SSW it was all faster roads for awhile, past a suspiciously opulent construction site on the way to the Badger Mountain/Summit Lake Road which, tending

more SSE, was not much slower and quite entertaining despite some enormously unanticipated

puddles and a whole hillside of lilac-colored juniper remnants lit up in a burn zone as I descended [there was a lot of descending involved] only to be brought up short by a long line

of pickups from many different government agencies [tribal included] not exactly parked in the road. I pulled in behind and walked down the line finding not only every one empty but no one

anywhere. Bizarre; went back to the truck and drove half in the sagebrush tentatively past

all eleven to get the hell out of there…Spooky.

Afterwards a decent descent continued unto the Summit Lake Reservation where solar powered surveillance devices oversee the boundaries within which there’s now a sign where

a much improved Soldier Meadows Road takes off around the lake. As the country trended

lower, browner and warmer the road [not shown] was as rocky and scrambly as ever

as it dropped to Soldier Meadows Ranch after which things sped up again for miles though

it was definitely a relief to get off the washboards and onto the windy desert opposite

Black Rock Point

…at least until Twelvemile, where the pavement of 34 offered further relief down to CR447

where as I rounded the curve at Deep Hole what to my wandering eyes should appear but the morning’s cattle hauling convoy now southbound, “Save America” bringing up the rear

just before the Smoke Creek turn, and home to find people discussing  WiFi as opposed to the contemplation of Alien Abductions…

So that [in three parts] was the day trip, 06/12/2025; 269 miles, eight hours and

…some hundreds of pics.

*The world was watching as OLD suffered through a lavishly lacklustre parade of his own making while millions around the country enthusiastically turned out to voice their disgust at his behavior and point out that Our Lying Despot is really nothing but the Old Lying Dipshit he’s always been…even before he was old his father recognized that, and the father was pretty much a shit in his own right. Anyway, before the world could fixate on that off we go; what’s a little Armageddon among war criminals, eh?
