But first yet another Benicia day begun wetly
which let up in plenty of time for packing and loading and L.’s grocery shopping, then Tuesday
brought us silken fogs,
other hours of loading up and, finally in the Tundra,
away across the misty valley
to Heather Glen for the usual small lunch [[not shown] then dry roads to Donner and the sun.
Down the other side where gas was already 80 cents cheaper by the gallon, the Wadsworth
Bypass, up to Nixon
and beyond with barely another vehicle all the way
to Empire and beyond…
Gerlach then
Wall Spring, a pretty easy trip between storms and though the backup between Davis and the causeway cost us an extra twenty minutes it was still only five hours…plus those twenty minutes. Of course at 4:30 one then had a lot to unload and put away, all in a day.

Wow, I so miss the open spaces and blue skies. Happy Holidays, Mike.
…although the first couple of days after that things were considerably darker. Still wide open though.
Terrific ride over the hill! Love the silken fog of Benicia and the beautiful skies of Nevada, not to mention the ZERO traffic out there. Enjoy it!
Oh, count on it; we will!
