After missing out on the studio Thursday

due to rehanging the bedroom’s sorry screen door Friday saw a return to calm and normal

with walks exploring the outlying often forgotten corners of the sculpture park –

well the Magdeburg Sphere isn’t exactly either but the ’42 Dodge, the Dump

and my ancient Glass Sculpture certainly qualified.

Saturday Linda was out early surveying the field ahead of Dundas and a Burner

[most of the labor force hereabouts at this point are people who washed up after one Burning Man or another though I dunno if that’s true for Dundas] called Aron who showed up just

before Willey with his forklift, the Essential Tool of the Day.

They started with “Insinuation”, which had been languishing by the Frogpond since last April’s

snowstorm after close to a year away for “Experimenta di Vacuo Spatio” at KANEKO

in Omaha…a day of puzzlements and puzzle-solving…

Our caretakers Seth and Sonny Roché came onboard in time to bring

“Insinuation” home at last

and then it was immediately on to the next; Linda here with Aron, Scott [Dundas], Sonny

and Dogs to set up “Grey Matter”, also away a year before spending a year on the pad due

to the aforementioned snow.  Damaged in transit this one had missed the Omaha show being made whole by some local sculptor whose welding chops proved not up to the task

– three times over – a problem not discovered until Saturday.

But up it went anyway as what’s a girl to do…

By now our friend Lee had arrived in an observational capacity and it was well after noon

but the considerable momentum facilitated a final push [some beers were involved] to install

“Hachure” after its trip to Omaha with a stop in Denver on the return…anyway, a first time

to see it here and a momentous day wherein

everyone worked well together and much – much! – was accomplished.

Lee headed off to spend the night somewhere out on the Black Rock and then Jungo while we

lay down at home with Sumi  – “water doggo” picture by Lee, who needs one for his wanderings.

Yeah, that’s Courtney Rock and Transport’s fork out of downtown Gerlach, Nevada. Willey’s been our go-to guy for all sorts of install and roadwork for over two decades…

Wow! The Wall Spring Sculpture Park is filling out nicely! And it looked like perfect weather for installations and documentations. But the army of (Burning) man-power, vehicles and tools required to get it done is pretty amazing, especially when combined with April 2024’s “aforementioned snow” crazy delivery. Impressive! Congrats to all team members….I hope you all are rested and recovered by now.
