What a Tarrific Ride!

…well there might have been some missteps like nearly tanking the global economy but certainly anyone who gets paid five [?] million bucks every time some random billionaire wants to kiss his copious ass deserves to be cut a little slack, right? Anyway nobody ever said the transition from demockery to klepto-technologarchy was going to be seamless, after all…and through all that [well during, really] the Malaise fallout,

exacerbated by repeated impactful interruptions to finish the insurance-mandated electrical work, continued. There were nevertheless some bright moments…not only on First

and around the home

not to mention that long-postponed breakfast at Lucca, wired on unaccustomed morning coffee

for the walk home after. I’ll opt for water next time.

Through the aftermath I never did get in a proper bikeride,

only a couple of brief hits over to West Third between

that long postponed massage at Yan’s Day Spa,

and dinner at the Union with Bryan where

the Eagle wore spectacles, the better to resolve those two flags…

Slowly coming back, taking Sumi around

every morning

and myself to Kaiser for PT

before a last – not lost – weekend spent

preparing for the long-delayed return to Wall Spring.

Sunday;

Monday;

After five weeks in Benicia I’m truly really sick of all those indistinguishable Muskvagens* – three or four to a block, literally – downtown, a constant in-the-face reminder of the Assholes Without Borders who have taken the fate of our nation and world into their self-serving greedy little hands. Time to go somewhere less Elon’d…except even there we rely on – and pay for – his space junk for internet. Well AI will solve it all, of course!

*In less ubiquitous times I was quite taken with the M3 in particular, but lacking the leisure and resources for purely recreational driving couldn’t figure out how to effectively use one in a way that would amortize the production cost to the environment.  Or use one at all, really; we have rather specialized automotive needs. Anyway by now there are lots of other apparently way better and less expensive EVs available…mostly coming out of China, from which Tesla is protected by those 124% tariffs implemented by Elon’s Fe-lon.

    I think we transitioned from demockery to klepto-technologarchy some time ago. Maybe when Gates made his first billion. Maybe when G. Washington bought his 100th slave.

      Hmmm, yes. So this is merely the more blatant version, 2.0 or something…still, first they come for people who speak out against genocide, then they come for Harvard…and the attorney General of New York State; next, and next…

    Well… I “thought” I was helping the planet wean off humankind’s transportation addiction to oil when I bought our Tesla. That was the back when Elon was just an asshole; but now that he’s gone “fully depraved Nazi”, destroying our country (and planet), I fully regret every dime he got from us.
    Sadly (for me), the global hatred of Musk is displayed on KBB.com, where Tesla resale values have plummeted so much I can’t afford to “off” mine and buy a non-Nazi vehicle. I most certainly can’t afford it since the money I paid into Social Security for thirty years may get grifted by Fe-Lon’s rabidly corrupt DOGE. Kleptocracy for sure!
    The showdown is happening now in the courts, but I suspect our authoritarian overlords will simply flip them the bird. Who’s going enforce the court’s contempt orders? the National Guard of Maine?
    Anyway I agree with Patsy; what an eye you have, Bro. Your shadow on the green mossy rocks with a watery sky is 👍🏻👍🏻.

      Maybe there are parts of Texas that still love Teslas? I dunno…seemed like a good idea at the time, eh?
