and, actually, haven’t been to Arizona for quite some time; just that this bit of Az., unclear as to
when it was painted, turned up while researching the ever-expanding options for the Book
Project[s]. Meanwhile we’re still, actually, herein and about Benicia
unless sucked vicariously elsewhere through one weekend wormhole or another, such as
to the Headlands
on Stuporbowl Sunday where a plethora of people from Linda’s CCA past
gathered together for Mark Thompson’s opening and where after a couple
of hours of intensely reconnecting we
went home to the dogs over brilliant deserted Sunday highways.
So another week…beginning with two trips to Vallejo to initiate the Tundra’s interior upgrades
followed by St. Valentine’s Day which was
exceedingly clear, bright and cold with winds off the muddy waters throughout and celebrated
with seasonal blossoms and takeout from Aung MayLiKa – the “spicy” spicy indeed – which left
enough leftovers for lunch in the industrial luncheonette on the 15th,
calm and warm enough as long as one stayed in the sun [and out of the house if one lacked
a Warm Dog for company therein] as Thursday,
despite clearing for some of the afternoon, remained Cold February as well as again required
two trips to V-Town, the second to retrieve the truck, now with a low-key stealth lowrider interior thanks to Abel at Express Upholstery as welcome improvement over the sad sagging
tobacco-stained original and where most of the rest of the clientele seemed to be leaving off
huge slabs of 80s convertibles with 20+” wheels…all while “colder than it looks” prevailed for the foreseeable down along the straits.
So…
Wow, the river/bay looks muddy.
Lovely!
curious architecture on the third to last photo
As per usual, displaying the town of Benicia at its most picturesque! Those sunny, clear days seem soooo long ago!!
